Repro pedals What we have here is a Blessing for your Vintage Schwinn Bicycle. For Schwinn Script(Nice but Tech) Original Dust caps must be removed and the hole in the dust came needs to be honed out a tad so the new cones insert freely. Use axle Kit in its Entirety but maybe with Original Axle Nuts. For Schwinn Script(Easy) Original Dust caps must be removed and works with original Hub shell with original bearings. I have found that this replacement is close to impossible to notice on your bike, the axle nuts are the only give away, but in some cases with Schwinn Script Hubs your original nuts will work and give you a unnoticeable look( Try, Don't Force, If it Fits Snug, then you can use the Originals) For New Departure WL Hubs the smaller front hub( Easy& Nice) works great with original Hub shell with original bearings. This axle kit should be used in its entirety for proper performance, cross using original threaded parts should not be done. Back in the Day 5/16" x 26 tpi was common on quite a few hubs but they came with different thread pitches which means you cannot switch threaded parts between hubs. The Axle is 5/16" Diameter and 5 5/32" wide or 131mm and has 26 Threads Per Inch(tpi) Nut Head is14mm or 9/16" Hex head drive.
